A few weeks ago, Hub Pages, yes the Hub Pages asked this question ‘ Black Stockings’. Due to the fact that it was not originally phrased in traditional question format, I have re-interpreted it for the benefit of my dear readers.
Therefore, the question becomes:
“Black stockings?”
This is a follow up to the wildly popular and fiercely debated ‘Why It’s A Big Deal When Men Wear Women’s Clothes In Public’, and a rebuttal to some of the more ignorant comments there which claimed that men shouldn’t wear women’s clothing not because they don’t have the right to, but because they don’t look good in it.
The sheer arrogance and indeed, shallowness of these claims aside, this is one of those times where fire can be fought with fire, for the claim that men do not look good in women’s clothing is simply false

Nylon stockings are throwbacks to the very inception of stockings. Well, okay, perhaps not the inception of stockings, but at least to WWII, which was a fairly long time ago, at least in terms of my life span. At that time, nylon stockings were in great demand because nylon was largely requistioned for use by the military in making parachutes and other things of an equally useful nature. Nylon stockings were difficult to purchase and many men and women were forced to go to black market dealers to get their stocking fix.
Stockings are not lingerie essentials, they are the explicit domain of the lingerie lover. Carefully woven from the finest materials, stockings caress the wearer’s leg with every step, inviting them into a world of subtle passion where senses are heightened, the line between masculine and feminine blurs and the true nature of the human beast is let out to play.
Many men who like to wear women’s lingerie bemoan the fact that ‘the world’ seems to be against men wearing women’s clothing. They’d like it to change, but they don’t know how to make that change. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on where one stands) for these men, the answer is as simple to say as it is difficult to find the courage to act on.
So here’s an interesting question. How far do you men in lingerie go? Is it a matter of slipping on a pair of panties and that’s all? Or have the panties lead to stockings, bras and other types of lingerie? Has your lingerie been a gateway into a who world of women’s attire? Having sampled the joys of a chemise, do you long to slip into a slinky dress?
It’s safe to say without fear of being accused of exaggeration that in recent decades, nothing has been more controversial than stockings for men. Though popular during the time of Louis “The Sun King” Quatorze (all French Kings used to have rapper names), men’s stockings fell out of fashion shortly after filthy revolutionaries began lopping the heads off the stylish elite.
I don’t know about you, but when I think hosiery, I think style. I think class. I think tiny pieces of cheese and glasses of wine that make your head spin to the horse like sounds of other people laughing at obscure Russian jokes.
